Yellow Jambhala is one of the Five Wealth Gods universally worshipped in Tibetan Buddhism. His identity originates from the Hindu deity Kubera, who was later absorbed into Buddhism as a Dharma protector. In Tibetan Buddhism, Yellow Jambhala is considered an incarnation of Vaishravana (The Multi-Hearing Heavenly King), one of the Four Heavenly Kings. Vaishravana is also known as the King of Wealth, the authoritative figure governing the North and riches.
Eliminating Poverty and Perfecting Merit:he most direct significance of Yellow Jambhala is to eliminate poverty and suffering across the Six Realms of existence, while increasing merit, lifespan, wisdom, and all material and spiritual enjoyment.
Tibetan Buddhism teaches that the practice of the Wealth God is an integral part of spiritual cultivation. It ensures that practitioners possess sufficient merit and resources (“Ziliang”) so they are not burdened by the struggles of daily livelihood. This allows them to focus more intently on practicing the Dharma and spreading its teachings to benefit others. This pursuit of wealth is not intended to satisfy personal greed, but rather to provide the capacity to practice generosity widely and benefit all sentient beings.
